Having a dual national in a position of power raises complex issues since their allegiance might be divided between two countries, thereby threatening our national security. This petition seeks to make it illegal for any congressman or woman to hold office while possessing dual citizenship. Putting this into law would ensure that decision makers put America's interest first and foremost, with no competing allegiances.

Furthermore, it is necessary for us to address the length of service our elected officials can maintain. Currently, term limits for Congress do not exist. This means that an individual can hold a seat for numerous terms, extending well over a decade. Unfortunately, this system allows for concentration of power and can hinder progress, vision, and new ideas. Hence, let's push for a two-term limit for those in Congress, akin to the presidential limit, promoting fresh perspectives and reducing the risk of complacency in office.
