This is important because same-sex people already get hated on enough. If we aren't allowed to attend prom together or go to leadout together, it's taking more of our rights away. You should be allowed to attend prom and leadout with anybody that you want. No matter if it is girls and girls or guys and guys. I started this petition because I find it highly unfair to the student body that we aren't allowed to attend prom with who we choose. I think this would make a huge difference because by allowing us same-sex attendees, everybody has a person to go with and nobody feels left out. Therefore; prom would be fun for everyone, instead of just the "popular crowd."
