Lauren Comer started this petition to Ligon Students

What if Ligon was a democracy?
We could have a digital democracy, where students could propose rules online and vote on them. Let's go over some of the benefits:

-Students have more of a say in how we run our school
-It prepares us for our roles as citizens
-Administrators still get the final say in things, so they still have authority, but students get to be heard and our ideas would be taken into account
-Teachers would be more respected by the students because they would listen to students' opinions

Those are just a few of the benefits of having a democracy in our school. It creates a balance of power between the students and administrators. That's why we have three braches of government. One person or group doesn't have authority over everything, and multiple voices are taken into account. That's how our country's run, and it makes sense to run our schools in a similar fashion.
Students go to school to learn. Therefore, students should get a say in how we learn. Please sign and share this petition if you agree.
