As we all stand together, I'm reminded of the devastating loss of my brother just over a year ago in a heartbreaking hit-and-run accident on North point Blvd, a tragedy compounded by the courts' ruling that he'll be deemed partially responsible for his own death due to the absence of a crosswalk within a mile radius. The weight of this injustice has been crushing me. Since his passing, the roads have continued to claim more lives, with numerous pedestrians falling victim to the same stretch of road, a grim reminder that change is long overdue. It's clear that we need to come together to demand action. In his honor, I'm launching a petition to advocate for a street light and crosswalk, striving to create a safer environment for all. My hope is that no family will have to endure the anguish of losing a loved one only to be told they're at fault.
