The need for increased police patrols on weekends in Cedar Springs is something we are all aware of and we are thankful when that need is recognized and met by our police department. Thanks to City Councilman Adam Medrano's continual support and updates we learned today that Major Vaughn has said that Dallas Police Reserves will be coming out this Saturday starting early evening and staying through the wee hours of the morning in Cedar Springs and Throckmorton area. There will be about 15 officers with 4 on bikes. An increase in patrol numbers is particularly needed this weekend due to the large increase of bar patrons expected for Purple Party Weekend. A big thank you to DPD for this effort. Take Back Oak Lawn is also concerned about police coverage in the South Side Music Hall area for the Purple Party Main Event and we ask that DPD increase coverage in that area which is not a typical gay scene.
