The City and Oak Lawn business and property owners are listening - we need better security in our community. We don't want to be mugged at night leaving the bars, we don't want our cars vandalized in the darkness, and we don't want to feel unsafe walking down the street. We need an environment that makes it hard for crime to occur - brighter lit streets and sidewalks (including side streets), more deterrences such as cameras and additional security, and increased police presence. I am contacting all of the parties named as recipients of this petition and asking them for their thoughts on how they can help reduce crime.
