Lift the Unjust Ban on Mastiffs and Other Large Breeds

Lift the Unjust Ban on Mastiffs and Other Large Breeds
The Issue
I am a proud owner of a bully, a breed often misunderstood and unfairly stigmatized. My bully has shown me time and again that they are capable of emotional understanding and empathy, often at par with humans. This personal experience contradicts the baseless claims that led to the ban on mastiffs and other large breeds.
These dogs are not inherently dangerous or aggressive as many believe. In fact, according to the American Temperament Test Society, 86.8% of American Pit Bull Terriers have passed their temperament tests - higher than Collies, Golden Retrievers, or Beagles (ATTS). This statistic alone debunks the myth that these breeds are naturally aggressive.
The ban is not only unfair but also ineffective in improving public safety. A study published in The Journal of Veterinary Behavior found no significant difference in aggression when comparing banned breeds with control groups (JVB).
It's time for our government to reconsider this unjust law based on outdated stereotypes and misinformation about these breeds. We urge them to lift this ban which is causing unnecessary suffering for responsible pet owners like myself who love their pets dearly.
Please sign this petition if you believe in fair treatment for all dog breeds based on individual behavior rather than breed type. Your signature can make a difference!
