Lift the Ban on Pitbulls in Grosse Pointe Woods

The Issue

We adopted a small staffy terrier mix that brought so much joy and love to our family. Unfortunately, due to the ban stated in ordinance section 6-94, we had to part ways with him. This outdated and unfair law has caused heartbreak for many responsible pet owners like us.

Pitbulls are often misunderstood and unfairly stereotyped as dangerous. However, studies have shown that breed-specific legislation (BSL) is ineffective at reducing dog bites or improving public safety (American Veterinary Medical Association). Instead of targeting specific breeds, we should focus on responsible pet ownership and education.

Please help us bring our beloved pets back home by lifting the ban on pitbulls in Grosse Pointe Woods. Sign this petition to support fair treatment for all dogs and their families.
