It is a small step in the right direction but nowhere near enough as:

1. It only addresses respirators, not other PPE, diagnostic tests or ventilators.
2. Even for respirators they don't approve at least all the IMDRF countries and it is otherwise fairly complex and narrowly construed -> seems like it might be adding a new layer of red tape.
