Right now, even people convicted of sexually abusing a minor while working as a teacher, support worker, youth leader or police officer even, do not automatically remain on the Sex Offenders Register for life.

That means they could come off the register in as little as 2 years, even if they used their job and position to target vulnerable young people.

This isn’t right. The damage caused lasts a lifetime, and the law should reflect that.

We are calling on the UK Government to make it automatic:

👉 Anyone convicted of sexual offences against a minor while in a position of trust should be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.

More needs to be done to acknowledge the lifelong impact these crimes have on victims. Until then, please add your name and share.
