According to the WHO, violence is the intentional use of physical force or power,
threatened or actual, against oneself, another person, or against a group or community, which results in or has a high likelihood of resulting in injury, death, psychological harm, underdevelopment, or deprivation.

As such, violence against children refers to all forms of physical, sexual and emotional violence – including neglect, maltreatment, exploitation, harm and abuse – towards a child under the age of 18.

This violence takes a multitude of forms, including but not limited to child marriage, child labour, corporal punishment, sexual violence, sexual abuse and exploitation, bullying, gang-and conflict-related violence, and violence committed online, such as cyberbullying, sexual extortion and sexual exploitation and abuse.

We at Life Helpers Initiative propose a petition to Safeguard the wholeness and well-being of children, beneficiaries, staffs, volunteers and all those who are connected with the activities of Life Helpers.

We set our position as Life Helpers for ZERO tolerance for any form of children abuse, harassment or harmful conducts or exploitation. All children are equal irrespective of their gender, disability, ethnicity, sexuality, marital status or religion.   All children have the right to freedom from abuse and exploitation.
