Licensed to Carry Firearms without Training? Is this responsible? What do you think?
The Issue
Can you get a drivers license without training and testing? A Realtors license without the required training? Shouldn't you have training to carry a firearm? Too many people carry firearms legally but do not know the safety or legalities in doing so.
Major GardnerPetition StarterI am a self defense firearms instructor in the State of Georgia and see way to often, people who do not know how to handle firearms but are legally able to carry them. It's our right to own and carry firearms but we should also have to be responsible in doing so. Accidental shootings are normally the result of the absence of training. Even when a child finds a loaded gun, that can be traced back to the adult that owns it not having any training. If they had been to a simple training class, one of the main topics is how to safely store your firearms. Let's improve our rights to carry by improving our education and become more responsible. Mandatory Training prior to the issue of a concealed carry permit is the only way. State of Georgia
