Single use plastics are filling New Zealand's landfills and affecting that 'clean green image' we pride ourselves on. The average woman uses 130 kg's of sanitary items in her lifetime, all of which will take between 500 and 800 years to decompose! Other single use plastic trends will come and go but as long as humans exist women will need some way of managing their periods. Sign my petition to bring in a policy which addresses the need for companies who currently produce single use pads and tampons to move into the production of reusable pads and menstrual cups. Not convinced? Not only do reusable sanitary items save the environment but they help you save money! Everyone wants some extra cash to spend!
