"Europe, Justice & Press Freedom: The Case of Julian Assange" The ´EU Free Assange Rally´ on the 23rd of April 2022 in Brussels is the major event this year to help #FreeAssange and to make clear that #JournalimsIsNotACrime to be live streams in Museums & Art Center´s across the globe.
The Rally will take place at central Place de la Monnaie and is organized by the activist organization ´Free Assange Wave´ and supported by major organizations such as ´Don´t Extradite Assange´, ´Reporters Sans Frontiers´, ´Amnesty International´ & the ´International Federation of Journalists´ who will be at the rally, together with speakers such as Stella Moris, Jeremy Corbyn, investigative journalist Stefania Maurizi, Ögmundur Jónasson (former Icelandic Minister of Justice and Human Rights), Joseph Farrell & Dr. Deepa Driver. They will take the floor to denounce how the cowardly silence about what is happening to Assange is nothing less than a betrayal of the values upon which modern Europe was built and that inspire Western democratic Constitutions. The world-famous ´Chicks on Speed´ Music Ensemble will give a free Open-Air Concert with songs composed for Julian Assange. The artist group ´Captain Borderline´ will be drawing a ´Collateral Crucifixion´. Also, in the evening there will be the screening of Clara Lopez and Juan Pancorbo's film 'Hacking Justice' on the story of Assange's decade-long struggle to avoid political persecution and deportation to the US in retaliation for his publishing activities, and the bookstore Tropismes will host a stall with Nils Melzer´s book ´The Trial of Julian Assange´ and several whistleblowers’ books.

The “EU Free Assange Rally” will be a massive event that European and American leaders will have to reckon with. In the end, it's about our right to know , which is the foundation of press freedom and democracy, so please join us in Brussels with #FreeAssange signs & banners.

We, the people, stand by Assange and believe the EU has both the power and the duty to also take a stand for him. If European leaders have mostly remained silent, we will make our voices heard.

Because despite not serving a sentence, the WikiLeaks founder remains incarcerated at Belmarsh, the UK max security prison known as “the British Guantanamo”, away from his partner and their two young children, while fighting extradition to a country whose intelligence agency drew plans to either kidnap or assassinate him after WikiLeaks published Vault 7, a set of documents showing how the CIA can target smartphones and turn them into spying devices.
Other memorable events will prepare the way for this Rally:

- On 24th March at 7.30 pm (CET) a webinar hosted by ´Don't Extradite Assange´ is going to give a taster with some of the speakers and artists for what to expect in this exciting people´s movement 
- On Friday 22nd April at 7.30 pm (CET) the Free University Brussels (ULB) will host a lecture from Dr Deepa Driver & or Stella Moris to encourage the participation of students in the rally.All of this is meant to be a call to action to all European citizens as well as a reminder that it is our leaders who are increasingly put on trial by this historical case. Their reaction to this international rally and to our demand for justice for Assange will tell what side of history our current leaders choose to be on. Because, in the end, "we are all Assange."

"Europa, giustizia e libertà di stampa: il caso di Julian Assange"
L'"EU Free Assange Rally" del 23 aprile 2022 a Bruxelles è il principale evento di quest'anno per aiutare #FreeAssange e per chiarire che #JournalimsIsNotACrime sarà trasmesso in diretta nei musei e nei centri d'arte di tutto il mondo.

Il Rally si svolgerà al centro di Place de la Monnaie ed è organizzato dall'organizzazione attivista "Free Assange Wave" e supportato da importanti organizzazioni come "Don´t Extradite Assange", "Reporters Sans Frontiers", "Amnesty International" e il "Federazione internazionale dei giornalisti" che sarà presente alla manifestazione, insieme a relatori come Stella Moris, Jeremy Corbyn, la giornalista investigativa Stefania Maurizi, Ögmundur Jónasson (ex ministro islandese della giustizia e dei diritti umani), Joseph Farrell e il dottor Deepa Driver. Prenderanno la parola per denunciare come il silenzio codardo su quanto sta accadendo ad Assange non sia altro che un tradimento dei valori su cui è stata costruita l'Europa moderna e che ispirano le Costituzioni democratiche occidentali. Il famoso ensemble musicale "Chicks on Speed" terrà un concerto all'aperto gratuito con brani composti per Julian Assange. Il gruppo di artisti "Captain Borderline" disegnerà una "Crocifissione collaterale". Inoltre, in serata ci sarà la proiezione del film 'Hacking Justice' di Clara Lopez e Juan Pancorbo sulla storia della lotta decennale di Assange per evitare la persecuzione politica e la deportazione negli Stati Uniti come rappresaglia per le sue attività editoriali, e la libreria Tropismes ospiterà uno stand con il libro di Nils Melzer 'The Trial of Julian Assange' e diversi libri di informatori.
L'"EU Free Assange Rally" sarà un grande evento con cui i leader europei e americani dovranno fare i conti. Alla fine, si tratta del nostro diritto di sapere, che è il fondamento della libertà di stampa e della democrazia, quindi per favore unisciti a noi a Bruxelles con i cartelli e gli striscioni #FreeAssange.

Noi, il popolo, siamo al fianco di Assange e crediamo che l'UE abbia sia il potere che il dovere di prendere posizione anche per lui. Se i leader europei sono rimasti per lo più in silenzio, faremo sentire la nostra voce.
Perché nonostante non abbia scontato una pena, il fondatore di WikiLeaks rimane incarcerato a Belmarsh, la prigione di massima sicurezza del Regno Unito conosciuta come "la Guantanamo britannica", lontano dal suo partner e dai loro due bambini piccoli, mentre combatte l'estradizione in un paese la cui agenzia di intelligence ha disegnato piani per rapirlo o assassinarlo dopo che WikiLeaks ha pubblicato Vault 7, una serie di documenti che mostrano come la CIA può prendere di mira gli smartphone e trasformarli in dispositivi di spionaggio.

Altri eventi memorabili prepareranno la strada a questo Rally:
- Il 24 marzo alle 19:30 (CET) un webinar ospitato da "Don't Extradite Assange" darà un assaggio con alcuni dei relatori e artisti su cosa aspettarsi da questo entusiasmante movimento popolare
- Venerdì 22 aprile alle 19:30 (CET) la Libera Università di Bruxelles (ULB) ospiterà una conferenza del Dr Deepa Driver e o Stella Moris per incoraggiare la partecipazione degli studenti alla manifestazione.

Tutto questo vuole essere un invito all'azione per tutti i cittadini europei e un promemoria che sono i nostri leader a essere sempre più processati da questo caso storico. La loro reazione a questa manifestazione internazionale e alla nostra richiesta di giustizia per Assange dirà da che parte della storia i nostri attuali leader scelgono di stare. Perché, alla fine, "siamo tutti Assange".
