Dear friends of Sea-Eye,
four rescue missions, 175 people rescued and two disembarkations: Two weeks ago, our all-weather lifeboat SEA-EYE 5 set off on its first mission. It is already clear that all the efforts along the way have been worthwhile.
Our conclusion after the first two weeks in operation is absolutely positive. The crew worked extremely well together and the SEA-EYE 5 proved to be as fast and manoeuvrable in an emergency as it needs to be for a safe rescue.
On board, the eight crew members provided emergency care for the rescued people. This also included initial medical care from our mission doctor Tamsin from our partner organization German Doctors.
After this successful start, two things are very clear to us: Firstly, our all-weather lifeboat is urgently needed in the area. Secondly, the SEA-EYE 5 and our operational concept effectively save people.
Now we just need enough donations to be able to send our all-weather lifeboat on missions permanently. Please support us in this. The most sustainable way to do this is to become a ship sponsor, as Oscar-nominated actress Sandra Hüller has already done.
Yours
Gorden Isler
