Dear Friends of Sea-Eye,

Today, on World Refugee Day, we are pleased to announce a major new project. In response to the anti-human isolationist policy at the external borders of the EU, we have purchased the DGzRS all-weather lifeboat NIS RANDERS with the help of the alliance United4Rescue: Under the name SEA-EYE 5 it will set sail this year to save lives in the Mediterranean. And we need your help!

Now more than ever! SEA-EYE 4 has been detained for a total of 120 days in the last 12 months. During the last mission, we were assigned ports to which we had to travel over 1,500 nautical miles. One thing is clear: if the hurdles set by EU member states continue to increase, we will have to change our strategy in order to continue saving lives in the Mediterranean. And we already have a solution: the SEA-EYE 5 - a fast and flexible all-weather lifeboat that, thanks to its powerful engines, can reach boats in distress in the shortest possible time.

We are currently planning annual operating costs of €600,000 so that our all-weather lifeboat can be used regularly. We also need your help: Become one of the 3,000 permanent donors of the SEA-EYE 5 and support us with €16.67 or more per month!

Become a permanent donor!

Thank you very much for your support!

Best regards

Jutta Wieding and Gorden Isler
- Managing Director and Chairman of Sea-Eye e. V.

The all-weather lifeboat for the Mediterranean

The SEA-EYE 5 was built specifically for rescuing people in distress at sea and has everything we need for our missions in the Mediterranean: it has a daughter boat, a towing hook, mobile rescue equipment and extensive navigation and radio equipment. There is also an sickbay on board where fuel burns and injuries can be treated and pregnant women and dehydrated people can receive emergency care. The equipment and operation is made possible by our long-standing partner organisation German Doctors e.V.
