Problem
LG has been overly conservative when it came to recognizing and supporting developers around the world. LG's bootloader unlock has always been limited to random market & carrier specific models, which made it impossible for 99% developers around the world to obtain bootloader unlock at any given point.

Bootloader unlock is an absolute necessity for full-use of hardware and testing beyond the limitations of stock OS. Developers with unlocked bootloader can offer more stable and tested software for the end-users.

Limiting bootloader capability to any region or carrier insults and disappoints developers excluded around the globe.

For example, LG offers bootloader unlock only on European Market version of the current flagship model LG G7 Thinq. It is impossible for developers in the Americas (including the entire U.S.) and Asia to obtain an EM variant of LG G7 without breaking tax & regulatory laws.

Solution
LG, like many other mobile phone manufacturers, should offer bootloader unlock regardless of requesting developers regional status and carrier of choice.

Personal story
I am an SDK developer who resides in the United States. When I saw LG G7's hardware for the first time, I knew this the one I could use to develop and tinker with. However, when I found out that LG is not offering bootloader unlock for the U.S. developers, I was greatly disappointed. Why do they have to do this? Is this regional discrimination? Why are they shunning all the developers outside the EU? Obviously, a lot came down on my mind.

My personal story was so dissapointing just like that one experience, when I thought I met the love of my life and later found out she was already married to someone else. I feel like LG and their administrative team has just crippled and ruined what is always going to be in my pocket for the next couple of years.
