Help me keep my pet mini pig, Lucy Belle

The Issue

Over the last 10-15 years pigs have become more and more popular as pets.  They are loving, smart, loyal, clean, and adorable; who wouldn't want one? On April 2, 2011 I brought home my baby, Lucy Belle. She is my mini pig, my child. She was only 4.5 months old and a pound an a half; she was so small she used to sleep in my hoodie pocket.  She has been with me through illness, heartbreak, loss, and laughter.  Since she has been with me I have lived in 3 different areas of Lexington, KY and have never had any complaints about myself having a pig in my home.  Have I had questions and concerns? Of course! But once people meet her and see that she is small, quiet, polite, clean, and pretty much is the laziest animal alive, they fall in love with her too (she loves a good snuggle and belly rubs). That was until July 9, 2018 when my fiancé came home to find a red door hanger on our front door stating there had been a complaint about us having a pig and that we may lose her. Pigs are so misunderstood.  People think they are dirty and destructive animals, but this is so far from the truth.  Pigs are clean, easily trainable, sweet, and loving animals who deserve to be loved just as much as any dog, cat, bird, or reptile.  Lucy Belle doesn't make loud noise, isn't destructive, is house broken, and can do all kinds of tricks.  I am due in court on July 25, 2018 to fight to keep my baby. Please sign my petition so that I can show the Lexington, KY court that not only should I be able to keep my micro pig, but other people should be allowed to experience the love of having a little piggy.
