Lewis and Clark Participation in the 2019 Global Climate Strike

Lewis and Clark Participation in the 2019 Global Climate Strike
The Issue
On September 20, young people around the world will participate in a Global Climate Strike, inspired by the school strike for climate initiated by teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg of Sweden. The climate strike movement voices concern for global climate change as an issue pertinent to young people, and generations to come, who will grow into an increasingly uncertain global politics and future.
We call on the relevant governing bodies and administrators of Lewis & Clark College:
- To ensure that students, staff, and faculty will not be penalized for participating in the September 20 Global Climate Strike.
- To publicly endorse the Global Climate Strike in solidarity with members of the Lewis & Clark community and young people everywhere in unwavering support for climate justice.
