LETTER TO VMC MAYOR : Environmental Issues Due to Dump Yard Near Tarsali Highway
The Issue
To,
The Hon’ble Mayor
Vadodara Municipal Corporation
Khanderao Market, Rajmahal Road
Vadodara – 390001
Subject: Urgent Request for Action on Environmental Issues Due to Dump Yard Near Tarsali Highway
Respected Sir/Madam,
We are writing on behalf of the residents of Mangla Greens, Tarsali, to bring to your urgent attention the severe environmental and health issues caused by the dump yard near the highway in our locality. This issue has persisted for over a decade, and despite repeated concerns raised by the residents, no concrete action has been taken to resolve the matter.
The major concerns we are facing include:
Toxic Smell – The unbearable stench from the dump yard is present at all hours of the day, making it extremely difficult to live in the area. This has also raised serious health concerns among residents, including respiratory issues and allergies.
Damage to Air Conditioners – The corrosive fumes and pollutants from the waste are leading to coil damage in air conditioner radiators, forcing residents to incur frequent and high repair costs.
Degrading Living Conditions – The overall environment of the area has deteriorated significantly, affecting the well-being of families, especially children and senior citizens.
Considering the severity of the issue and the long-standing nature of the problem, we, the residents of Mangla Greens, earnestly request your immediate intervention in addressing this matter. We urge the Vadodara Municipal Corporation to take necessary corrective measures, including but not limited to:
Implementing waste management solutions to reduce toxic emissions.
Relocating or scientifically managing the waste disposal site.
Conducting an environmental assessment to mitigate the harmful effects on residents.
We sincerely hope that swift and decisive action will be taken to improve the living conditions in our area. Kindly acknowledge this letter and update us on the steps being taken at the earliest.
A copy of this letter has also been forwarded to the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s Office, Government of Gujarat, for their kind attention and necessary intervention.
Thank you for your time and consideration. We look forward to your prompt action.
Yours sincerely,
Resident member of Mangla Greens
