LETS SAVE MULTIVERSUS
The Issue
When Multiversus first launched in Beta, it captured the hearts of countless players. The fresh, unique feel combined with iconic characters from beloved IPs made it a one-of-a-kind experience that brought gamers together in excitement. Yes, Beta had its issues, but it held promise for something amazing upon full release. When it suddenly shut down in 2022, we were stunned but filled with hope, eagerly awaiting the refined game we believed would come.
Fast forward to 2024, and with the full release of Multiversus, our excitement turned to shock yet again. What we received didn’t meet the standards of a polished release. Despite the work involved in porting to a new engine, the game felt unfinished, unrefined—leaving many of us wondering, "What did we wait two years for?"
Now, as we move into Season 4, disappointment continues to cloud our experience. Although PFG has made some improvements, it’s clear that we, the players, are not satisfied. After nearly six months, Multiversus is plagued with the same fundamental issues: an unbalanced cast, broken interactions, recurring bugs with every update, server issues, a pay-to-play environment, and a lack of genuine attention to community desires. Each season, we’re promised that the next update will bring game-changing fixes, only to find the same problems, glossed over with new content that feels like a distraction.
The numbers don’t lie. The declining player base and decreasing revenue are more than anecdotal; they are a wake-up call about the state of the game. As a community, we urge the developers at PFG to make meaningful changes to the game we love and believe in. Stop relying on new content to mask core issues; stop assuming that fresh characters alone will keep players engaged. PLEASE, focus on the gameplay balance, fix the interactions that still make us question the game’s mechanics so far into its lifecycle, and restore the excitement that Multiversus once brought to us all.
Prioritize the essentials of a fighting game experience, one that feels polished, engaging, and rewarding. Give us the tools to provide direct feedback within the game and listen to what we’re asking for. We don’t want to watch Multiversus fade away, but at this rate, that’s exactly where it’s headed. PFG, the time is now—fix the game we have instead of piling on additions. We’re counting on you to help Multiversus reach its potential.
