Let's come together to SAVE the lives of the Feral/Stray Cats of the Cayman Islands, mainly the sister islands: Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. They are defenseless and they DO NOT have a voice so they need our help to speak up and fight for them. 

It has been stated that Feral Cats are killing indigenous species such as birds,  iguanas, lizards etc. Honestly, we appreciate what was said; however, this is helping to keep the growing infestation of green iguanas, rodents and the like down. 

The barbaric solution by DOE and DOA is to have these defenseless animals executed. This is cruel on all levels; not one ounce of compassion is given to the Ferals/Strays.

The world they live in is not an easy one. Daily they must fight to survive by escaping dogs whether wild or domesticated, cars, ingesting poison that was intentionally set and so on. Now, they have to fight to avoid execution by DOE & DOA - HEARTLESS!

On that note, how many times have you seen dogs killing iguanas, cats, chickens birds & eating their eggs? We are quite sure that this has been witnessed more vs a Feral Cat hunting for food.  

Keep in mind cats are felines, they are members of the big cat family so it’s in their nature to hunt so that they can get food to survive. They are not purposely murdering helpless birds etc. They are hunting for food and if a bird or a green iggy is appetizing to some humans imagine how enticing it will be to a starving stray/feral cat.

To use the excuse to execute Feral/Stray Cats because they are killing indigenous species is an absolute poor one. Ferals are NOT the only animals to blame for this.

The government should be more proactive and work with, not against, charitable organizations such as Feline Friends, CARE, Humane Society and PAWS. This will enable these organizations to continue their labor of love by capturing homeless cats so that they can be spay and neutered. The numbers that these committed organizations have already sterilized, to help our community, are staggering.

Once a Feral cat is spay or neutered he/she can turn into a loving domesticated pet. They lose the urge to go hunting after they have been fixed. They settle down nicely to receive and give love as any ordinary domesticated pet would. 

So PLEASE save the life of a Feral Cat; sign this petition TODAY and say NO to the DOE & DOA's execution of helpless and defenseless Feral/Stray Cats.
