🟥 June 30th Update — Town Hall Breakdown: Victory for JPU Students, Exposed Failure by NY DOH

🚨 Major Victory: DOH Reverses Course After Being Sued
-June 23 – John Patrick University (JPU) files a federal lawsuit against the New York Department of Health (DOH) and Department of Education.
-June 24 – JPU files a separate state lawsuit in New York court.
-June 25 – NY Attorney General’s Office reaches out within 24 hours requesting negotiation.
-June 26 – JPU submits settlement terms to Attorney General.
-June 27 – NY AG returns minor edits, settlement finalized and signed.
-June 30 – Executed agreement becomes official.
⚖️ Conclusion: NY DOH could not produce any evidence justifying license revocations. The state folded in 4 business days.

📌 This swift reversal confirms what students have long suspected: there was never a legitimate basis for the license revocations. NY DOH acted without legal foundation and hoped students wouldn’t fight back.

🔓 What’s In The Settlement – JPU Got EVERYTHING It Asked For:
✅ All previously revoked licenses reinstated (8–9 grads affected).
✅ All active licenses are safe.
✅ Any student who passed the ARRT can now apply for a NY State license—and will receive it.
✅ Students who haven’t taken the ARRT yet can take it whenever ready and receive NY licensure upon passing.
✅ JPU retains its ability to place students in NY clinical sites.
✅ JPU reserves the right to use its evidence for future lawsuits.
✅ JPU will continue the JRCERT accreditation process (voluntarily, not as punishment).
✅ Enrollment is now open for Fall 2025.

🧨 What This Really Means:
1-NY DOH was forced to retreat without a single hearing or piece of evidence presented.
2-There was no inspection failure, no fraud, no forged documents—just an illegal reinterpretation of state policy with zero legal grounds.
3-The Department’s actions violated constitutional rights to property and due process (14th Amendment).
4-JPU had a legal knockout case and didn’t settle—it won outright.
5-Over 200 affirmations from students (testimonies in support) helped drive the settlement.

💥 One Of The Fastest Settlement of Its Kind:
Federal and State suits filed: June 23–24
AG responds: June 25
Settlement agreed: June 27
Final execution: June 30
🔴 Most cases like this take 6–12 months. This took 4 business days. That only happens when the state knows it’s wrong and wants to get out fast before the press or public digs deeper.

🏛️ Attorney General’s Role:
1-NY Attorney General’s Office served as the legal representative for the Department of Health.
2-Their outreach the very next day shows the case had serious merit and the state did not want it to proceed to court.
3-Settlement includes full reversal of DOH actions, without requiring JPU to admit any wrongdoing—because none existed.

🤝 Meetings With Hospitals & Industry:
1-JPU held a separate town hall with 60+ clinical site representatives and hospitals.
1199SEIU Healthcare Union is in full support of JPU and its graduates.
2-Facilities were informed of the resolution and are expected to restore normal operations.
3-Official letters to hospital leadership confirming reinstatement of student licenses are going out this week.

🎓 What This Means for Students:
🟢 If you already have your license — you’re safe.
🟢 If you passed ARRT but didn’t get licensed yet — go apply now.
🟢 If your license was revoked — it is officially reinstated.
🟢 If you haven’t taken the ARRT yet — take it when ready.
🟢 MRI course offer still stands — even though legal issues are resolved.
🟢 New grads will be supported with study help and optional MRI certification at no cost.

🛡️ Key Takeaways:
🧠 NY DOH had no evidence to justify license seizures and quietly settled before being exposed further.
📚 JPU’s accreditation (ACCSC) is fully recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and ARRT.
⚖️ The law was always on the students’ side: NY regulations say JRCERT or another accrediting body.
🔥 This was a power play gone wrong — and students fought back and won.
💼 JPU can still sue in the future if any additional interference occurs.

🥂 Gratitude & Next Steps:
1-JPU leadership expressed deep gratitude to students who stood by them, especially during online misinformation and personal attacks.
2-Special thanks to student organizer Martin Sterling for launching the petition and public advocacy.
3-Students are encouraged to continue correcting misinformation, celebrating the win, and supporting each other in getting back to work.

📣 Students and grads are now fully cleared to return to clinicals, take boards, and start working.

🎯 Victory achieved. Let’s rebuild stronger.

Silence the Haters!
