MUMBAI MIRROR-7/6/2014 The iconic Bhabha bungalow on Malabar Hill, which was home to Dr Homi Bhabha and his brother Jamshed, is scheduled to go under the hammer on June 18 . Jamshed, the sole owner of the bungalow after Homi Bhabha's death 48 years ago, had willed the property — spread over 17,150 sq ft — to the NCPA, which he had established. While the NCPA hopes to use the money raised through the sale of the bungalow to form a corpus for its future activities, some members of the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) Employees Union have petitioned the President and the prime minister to set up a Dr Homi Bhabha museum at the property, valued at around Rs 260 crore. ANIL DHARKER argues why the BARC employees have got their sentiments all wrong, and why Jamshed Bhabha's legacy should be commemorated too.
