The Issue

We, the concerned citizens of Clayton, North Carolina, are deeply troubled by a man who has taken up a leadership role in our community. Jon Jenkins relocated to the town in 2019 and is now serving as main pastor. However, his past is marred with allegations of covering up rape and molestation within his previous church that he's ADMITTED TO. This man has not only failed to uphold moral standards but also actively concealed heinous crimes.  Unfortunately, he hasn’t been charge with crimes and cannot be now due to statute of limitations. There’s not a statute of limitations on trauma.

The issue at hand goes beyond personal grievances; it's about ensuring safety and justice within our community. It's about standing against those who use their positions of power to hide wrongdoing instead of taking action against it.

We must remember that churches should be safe spaces for everyone - places where people can come together in faith without fear. Having someone like Jon Jenkins in a position of influence undermines this fundamental principle.

We call on the relevant authorities and church leaders to take immediate action. We demand that Jon Jenkins be removed from any leadership roles within Clayton NC Church or any other religious institution he may be involved with.

By signing this petition, you're joining us in taking a stand for justice and safety within our community. Together we can ensure that those entrusted with leadership are held accountable for their actions or lack thereof.
