Let us keep our memorial to my friend Lewis

Let us keep our memorial to my friend Lewis
The Issue
Good morning, I’m writing this as I am very upset about what Doncaster council are trying to do to our friend's memorial wall.
On the 11th of January, our friend Lewis Williams was shot dead in a awful drive by shooting. I was the person who came to help revive his body on the scene. Lewis was 20 years old and a life long friend.
Since his death we have used the wall where he was shot as a memorial wall, with flowers, candles and pics of him there (just like people do at crash scenes and any other tragic death places) this wall is for everyone who wants to pay their respects for Lewis, and also go to remember him, light a candle or just sit and speak to him. We take good pride.
This wall we clean it regularly, we lay flowers all the time, we do what has been asked of us from the council (not to leave glass bottles or anything that can harm the public). His mum's liaison office was contacted by Doncaster council saying they are going to remove the items from the wall with no explanation at all. We don’t see there being a valid reason, as there is nothing effecting anyone on this wall.
We have tried to apply for a memorial bench, but with no such luck or response from the council. This wall is visited by people separately due to covid, we do not breach covid guidelines, no gatherings have been made, no offensive things have been put there or anything of that nature. This has really upset his mum and his friends and family, as we are all still grieving for our loved one that we all lost.
If you can kindly please please sign our petition to keep our friend memory wall where it is and stop the council removing it.
