We as parents, guardians, friends, family and neighbours do not agree with the cancelling of tournaments for kids without allowing associations at least an opportunity to modify them to make them safe within the current and ever changing Covid restrictions. 

We hope that the Government and viaSport BC will support local associations who are hosting tournaments and help facilitate solutions so that the kids can continue to play. 

There are steps we can take before cancelling these events: arriving in full gear, entering as a team, covid symptom screening on team snap, submit player and coaches names for tracking purposes, limiting use of dressing rooms, masking upon entry, limiting spectators, limiting out of town teams, providing online video viewing. 

Adults need to do better. Be more creative. Don't punish the kids. Let's find a solution! Let the kids play.
