The Issue
Little League International: Call Taiwan by Its Name
For decades, Taiwan has been one of the brightest stars in Little League Baseball. Generations of young players from Taiwan have inspired the world with their teamwork, skill, and love for the game — bringing home multiple World Series championships and creating unforgettable moments for fans everywhere.
But on the field, Taiwan is still forced to compete under the name “Chinese Taipei.” This confusing and inaccurate label does not reflect the true identity of the players or the community they represent. Little League is supposed to be about fairness, respect, and integrity — yet our kids from Taiwan are not given the same dignity as other teams who proudly play under their country or region’s real name.
It’s time for Little League International to make this right.
👉 We call on Little League International to change “Chinese Taipei” to “Taiwan” in all tournaments, scoreboards, broadcasts, and official communications.
This is not a political issue — it’s about honesty, equality, and respect for children who deserve to be recognized for who they are and where they come from. Fans already know them as Taiwan. The players already call their home Taiwan. The world should too.
By making this change, Little League International can send a powerful message: every child, no matter where they’re from, deserves to be seen and celebrated with dignity.
✍️ Please sign and share this petition to show your support for Taiwan’s young athletes and for the values that Little League stands for.
