Let Students Stay At Bowers Farm For Our Senior Year.

Let Students Stay At Bowers Farm For Our Senior Year.
The Issue
We students at Bowers Academy are calling on Bloomfield Hills School District leadership to let our junior class finish our final year of high school at the Bowers Farm Academy.
The most upsetting part? The students nor parents had any voice in this decision. It was announced without warning on a Monday morning, leaving teachers, parents, and students alike blindsided and disheartened. We deserve to be part of conversations that directly affect our education and well-being.
Bowers is more than just a classroom. It's a vibrant, hands-on learning environment where students thrive through experiential education, close-knit relationships, and the unique responsibility of caring for animals and the land. For many of us here at Bowers, it's the first time school has truly felt like a place where we belong.
Currently, the Bloomfield Hills District plans to move Bowers students back to main campus (BHHS) starting next school year. This abrupt transition would not only disrupt our academic and emotional growth, but also sever the meaningful relationships we've built, and cut short a rare opportunity to learn in a way that genuinely engages and inspires students.
We're asking the district to consider a thoughtful exception: allow this current group of juniors to complete their senior year at Bowers.
While already being committed to the values and rhythm of this unique learning community, letting us stay through graduation would:
- Honor the investment students have already made to this program
- Preserve the continuity of our education and personal development
- Reflect the district's commitment to student-centered, innovative learning
This isn't about expanding the program or necessarily making a permanent change. It's simply about finishing what was started -- for the sake of a group of students who are thriving in an environment that works for them.
Please sign and share to support Bowers students and urge the district to do what's right: Let the juniors stay. Let them finish strong. Let them graduate at Bowers.
