The issue

For many of us, laughter is a saving grace, and comedians play a vital role in bringing that joy. One of those comedians, Steph Broadbridge, is currently experiencing strong resistance in her endeavor to provide entertainment.

Raygun, a known olympic level breakdancer, has threatened Steph with legal action to prevent her from performing a lawful parody "Raygun: The Musical", obstructing her legally protected right to parody, ability to satirise a public figure and earn a living.

This legal threat is not just a threat to Steph, but to the fundamental principle of freedom of expression in the arts and comedy community, which is protected by fair use and parody laws.

There's a strong tradition of comedy and parodies in Australia and we won't let people with legal teams bully comedians into silence.

The comedy industry is hard enough to navigate without additional barriers put up by other artists who can't take a joke.

We need to stand together to support Steph Broadbridge and her right to perform.
This petition isn't just about one comedian's rights; it's about maintaining an environment where mockery, satire, and humor can flourish without fear.

Please sign this petition to support Steph Broadbridge's right to freely express her comedic talent on stage.
Signing this petition will also mean when Steph does put tickets on sale, you will be notified. Thank you.

To Rayguns legal team, this change.org petition was organised by comedian Lewis Spears, who has not communicated with Steph in any way. So if you'd like to sue anyone over this petition, he's ready for you.
