Let's Stop Illegal Deforestation to Reduce Animal Extinction!
The Issue
Dear friends, to have a balanced ecosystem, young generations need to take action to have a balanced future. If we keep making the ecosystem unbalanced, it can cause loss of biodiversity as the animals that live in the forests will disappear due to deforestation. In this project, we will explain about the animal extinction due to deforestation. If we make our ecosystem balanced, it will protect all the endangered animals and it will cause less animal extinction.
An ecosystem is a place where living things and non living things live. They gathered together and lived in a particular place. If we keep ruining the ecosystems, the ecosystem can be unbalanced because every component in an ecosystem needs one another. Example, like a tree with a sun. The tree needs the sun to keep growing, if it doesn’t get any sunlight, it will slowly die. Just like other animals to one another. If they interact, they can create interdependence and it will make a balanced ecosystem. If we can keep our ecosystem balanced, it will help preserve the earth’s natural resources and our biosphere. It is better to make our ecosystem balanced instead of ruining it.
However, rapid urban growth in Indonesia has created a number of environmental problems. New and growing industries have harmed air and water quality, and expanding urban development has disrupted rural areas. There are hundreds of issues that are causing damage to the environment. But in this, endangered animals are everywhere on earth, whether it’s severely or just on the edge of extinction, especially in Indonesia. It has been confirmed that over the years, the number of endangered species has increased. This case really matters. Animals are suffering due to extinction, the number has increased over the years. Soon, they’ll have nothing left here, they’ll lose their habitats, their relatives, and soon, they’ll lose themselves.
In Indonesia, there have been 361 endangered species reported, 41% of amphibies, 37% of underwater animals, 26% mamalia, and 13% birds. These are due to extensive poaching, animal trades, and lastly, decrease of habitats due to deforestation. Some of them are, Sumatran Tiger, Javan Leopard, Orangutan, Anoa, and Javan and Sumatran Rhinos.
We proposed a solution for these endangered animals. We will make an animation using scratch and this digital petition to spread the words and how to fix it. Some solutions are to give proper punishment to illegal hunting and illegal logging, remember to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, donate to organizations and stop purchasing real material products (rugs, coats, necklaces). And, reporting to the organizations when there had been harms to animals. This solution is proposed not only to the people, but also for ourselves.
That is all for our presentations about illegal deforestation in Indonesia. I hope we, as young generations, can solve this problem together. We need to always spread awareness about the endangered animals in Indonesia so that everyone can be aware. If you ever find any illegal activity in your area please go to ‘e-Pelaporan Satwa Dilindungi’ app and report it or go to https://m.apkpure.com/e-pelaporan-satwa-dilindungi/com.kodena.bareskrim.e_pelaporansatwadilindungi Thank you!
