IT Petition

In the historic complex of the Pieve di San Cresci a Montefioralle in Greve in Chianti ( Florence, Italy), there is the cultural center and residence for artists ,“ La Macina di San Cresci “,which represents an important artist community for the region.
It is a place where artists exchange ideas; an intercultural place, where people from many countries, cultures, social spheres, meet and create beyond difference;

Over the years, projects to enhance the area, courses, book presentations, exhibitions, conferences has made this center internationally known . If concerned citizens, artists and all those who believe in the values of art and the strength of culture do not make themselves heard, La Macina will be closed and Mimma and Duccio who have spent thirty years of their lives creating this center will be evicted due to an eviction order carried out by the Church, namely the Parish of Santo Stefano with the delegation from the Bishop of Fiesole.

We appeal to local institutions (Municipality of Greve in Chianti, Province of Florence, Region of Tuscany) and national ( Ministry of Culture), to take a stand in favor of the continuity of this vital and important artistic center for Tuscany.
This precious cultural place must be protected. We appeal to the Fiesole’s Bishop to revoke this inconceivable decision and confirm La Macina's right to remain as the home of Mimma and Duccio and as an art center in the San Cresci complex.
