Vet fees need to become subject to regulation, now more than ever. How is it fair for one veterinary practice to charge one price, a second to charge much higher, and a third to undercut other competitors? Why should we be forced to pay more for the same service than at other vet practices? Vet costs can put a massive strain on families whose beloved pet requires medication and surgery. In some cases, pet insurance does not always cover the cost of treatment, forcing us to foot the cost. With the rising cost of living, many people are struggling to afford this. Our own health service is regulated and mandated to cap how much each item and service can charge. Why then can this not be applied to veterinary services. The time has come for change, and urgent action needs to be taken, to protect families the heartache that sometimes occurs because treatment cost is too much. Animals may be given up to charities, sold to other people who may not be aware of a health condition, or worse. This must end and we must all come together to end this inequality
