Dear fellow Nobel Middle School parents and neighboring community members. Nobel Middle School is the only campus within LAUSD that does not have any type of gate or fencing on 3 out of the 4 sides of the school, making the campus completely exposed and wide open for the public to enter as they wish. We understand the lure of having an open campus and the nostalgia that comes with it but putting up an aesthetically pleasing, wrought-iron fence will provide our students and staff with the added layer of safety they deserve. Every single school in the district has an enclosure that is in line with current safety protocols as anyone who is to visit the LAUSD school campuses must check in with the main office. Requesting the perimeter of the campus to be secured from two major, (very busy) high-traffic streets is a bare minimum ask for the safety, comfort, and all-around well-being of Nobel Middle school students, teachers, and staff. Please help us provide the necessary safety and security our kids and the adults who support them all deserve.
