End the reservation system (#natsofair)
The Issue
You just lost a train by a minute. You just missed the race in a second; maybe they aren't too important; you could take the bus or race again, but you just lost the admission to the best college with one mark!
what if you were told that the person who scored the same as you did - or even worse less, than what you did - made his way to an even better place than you aimed at (all thanks to our reservation system)?
Providing reserved seats in colleges and universities is extremely unfair. And extending the same to jobs is even more illogical. Entrance Tests are made to approximate one’s capacity and not privilege the test-takers on their caste. Entrance exams scores have reduced cut off for different categories. For example, consider the JEE Mains of 2018 wherein of 360 marks, the GENERAL had to score 74 to get qualified whereas the OBC-45, SC-29 and ST-24, and Similarly, in the case of NEET-2018 the UR had to score 119 but the OBC/SC/ST only 96.
Historically, the founders of the constitution had a reason. And they did clearly document it in the constitution to revoke caste-based reservation in just 10 years. Later the same was amended for 60 years (art-15,16,334). Well since the scheme has outlived its purpose and since the scheme has miserably failed, shouldn't it be given a decent burial.
Rather than altering the entry levels, The idea of extending tuition hours and providing additional materials to students from low-income category and from less privileged sectors seems to be the best alternative. That's the only way we prime up the aspirants for respective studies or jobs. That's the true way of building competencies and abilities of concerned societies. Such a move truly enriches equality and promotes national integrity. And more importantly, it adds to the quality of India's Human Resources and eventually India's Innovation Index. In short, India truly develops with competent people studying appropriate courses and competent people taking right decisions.
Like me, if you want to be taught by and served by competent people and have a fair grading system, lend your voice by signing this petition, supporting the bottom line - ‘Reservations are to be ended’ Let’s put our hands together to build a fair and better INDIA, Because,
"ALONE IT'S ONLY A DREAM BUT TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE IT REALITY"
