As a proud member of our school’s esteemed theater program, I’m writing with a simple but meaningful request: that our National Championship-winning theater troupe be represented in the same way our athletic teams are — with a photo displayed in the hallway. Our team poured countless hours into rehearsals, performances, and competitions, culminating in an incredible victory at Nationals — the first time in Pitt County Schools history that a theater troupe has earned this honor. It was a milestone not only for our program, but for our entire school community in Greenville, NC. Just like our athletes, we worked as a team, supported one another, and represented our school with excellence, creativity, and dedication. Yet while photos of our championship sports teams line the halls, our theater troupe’s historic win remains unseen. We aren’t asking for special treatment — only equal recognition. A framed photo celebrating our Nationals achievement would proudly showcase the talent, teamwork, and innovation that define our school. It would also remind future students that success comes in many forms — on the stage as well as on the field.
