You may vote for the social cohesion that dance brings, for its community engagement, how it reaches youth or seniors, its inclusiveness, how it embraces healthy living, or how it provides jobs and employment. When you vote for dance, you add your voice to the hundreds of individuals in Canada that want us to speak on their behalf. Dancers have the shortest careers, wages are the lowest, and many dance companies /individual dancers suffer extreme financial fragility. When it comes to convincing public leaders about the necessity of dance in our Canadian culture, the importance of reinforcing dance in education, subsidizing health insurance programs, or access to Touring funding, CDA needs a critical mass of people raising their voice…don’t wait : VOTE NOW, and join the largest dance force whose goal is to move into the spotlight and change the status of dance in Canada!
