Let’s Bring Back Our Beloved Airbnb Notification Sound!  

We, the global community of Airbnb hosts, are uniting to voice a collective plea to Airbnb: Please bring back the original notification sound!

For many of us, the unique chime of Airbnb's notification was not just a sound—it was a signal of new opportunities, connections, and experiences. It was a distinctive, cheerful alert that resonated with our dedication and passion for hospitality. This sound had become a significant part of our hosting routine, instantly recognizable amidst the noise of daily life, ensuring we could provide timely and attentive service to our guests.

Recently, this beloved sound was replaced without clear explanation or understanding of its impact on our activities. The new notification tone is indistinct, often indistinguishable from other alerts on our devices, leading to missed messages, overlooked bookings, and delayed responses. This change affects our performance, our guests' satisfaction, and ultimately, our success.

**Why is this important?**

The original Airbnb notification sound was uniquely crafted for hosts. It stood out, ensuring that we, amidst our busy lives, could hear and recognize an Airbnb activity promptly. This is about more than nostalgia; it's about the functionality and effectiveness of our service to guests across the globe. The current sound does not meet the practical needs of hosts, many of whom rely on this auditory cue to maintain high responsiveness and service quality.

What we are asking:

• Reinstate the Original Sound:

We request that Airbnb bring back the original notification sound, which was an integral part of our hosting experience.

 

• Involve Hosts in Changes:

We ask that Airbnb includes hosts in the decision-making process for changes that directly affect how we manage our listings and interact with our guests.

 

• Customization Options:

If reinstating the old sound across the board is not feasible, we propose that Airbnb provides hosts the option to choose their preferred notification sounds from a selection that includes the original tone.
