💦 Let’s Bring a Splash Pad to Cobham! 💦

The Issue

Families in Cobham have no local splash pad or public swimming facilities. Sign our petition to bring a safe, accessible, and sustainable water play space to Cobham Recreation Ground — boosting fun for kids and footfall for local businesses!

As a mum of two young children living in Cobham, I know first-hand how limited our local options are for safe and affordable water play. In the summer months, parents have to travel to Weybridge or further afield just to give their children the chance to cool down and enjoy outdoor water play. For families without easy access to a car, this isn’t even possible.

Cobham has fantastic green spaces and a small playground, but no local public swimming or splash facilities. Families in the south of Elmbridge are missing out — and at a time when free, inclusive, and healthy activities are more important than ever.

Other towns show the benefits a splash pad can bring:

  • Weybridge’s splash pad has been a huge success, drawing hundreds of families each week and boosting local cafés and shops.

  • Research shows family-friendly facilities increase dwell time in town centres by up to 30%, bringing extra spending power to local businesses.

  • Splash pads are safe, sustainable, and accessible to all ages and abilities, unlike paddling pools which are costly and less environmentally friendly.

We believe Cobham deserves the same opportunities as Weybridge, Hersham, and Oatlands. A splash pad at Cobham Recreation Ground would transform the space into a true community hub where children can play, parents can connect, and businesses can thrive from increased local footfall.

Please sign and share this petition to show Elmbridge Borough Council and the new Unitary Authority that Cobham families need and deserve a splash pad.

Together, we can make it happen! 🫶🏻
