The Issue

For years, I have witnessed our communities cry out for improved water quality, only to be met with silence. The proposed Google data center in Putnam County is yet another threat that is in our sights. West Virginia has long been drained of its resources, our cries for help falling on deaf ears of those meant to lead and protect us.

The construction of this data center could significantly impact our ecosystem and strain our already poor water resources. Data centers are known for their colossal water consumption to cool servers, where this specific one will pull up to 1.2 million gallons of water from the Kanawha river a day. This data center will only make our water quality worse.

It's not just about our resources, it's about our right to have a say in what happens in our community. The citizens of Buffalo, West Virginia didn't have that right. The land was sold and the center was proposed before the folks could even have a say.

Us West Virginians cannot afford to be the butt of yet another form of corporate abuse and greed.

Join us in this fight to secure Buffalo and Putnam counties right to vote on the proposed Google data center. Their community's well being depends on it. Please sign this petition to demand a democratic say in Putnam County's future.
