"PURSUIT" an American Bully Mix has been in the care of Harrisburg "HUMANE" Society since 2021, he has been there longest resident at the shelter, has been on the adoption floor and most recently in December 2022 he was advertised for adoption: "let this be his last Christmas in the shelter" On February 11, 2023 a news article was written by out local news outlet Pennlive after multiple Volunteers from the organization voice their opinion after hearing that pursuit was going to be euthanized on Monday February 13th 2023.  Once the local news article hit social media Pursuit was taken down from the humane society's adoption page- take note that he was STILL on the adoptable page prior to the new outlest article. There have been multiple Reports that he was removed from the shelter floor yesterday and put into isolation. There has been an astounding amount of public attention to the situation, There have been multiple rescues who had offered to take the dog so he would not be euthanized there have been multiple volunteers who offered to take the dog as well however,  it is said that the Harrisburg humane society will not release the dog to anyone. Harrisburg area humane society's Facebook page originally had the statement of "Here is where you can post your negative comments" and then gave very vague background information on why he was being euthanized. That statement of" Here is where you can post your negative comments" has since been removed But the original post is still on their page. "Here is where you can post your negative comments" should tell us all we need to know about the organization. 

 While we as a community do not know all of the background information on this dog what we do know is that there has been NO RESPONSE after multiple attempts from executive staff at the Harrisburg humane society letting the public know what exactly is going on with the dog and being completely transparent with the public which in turn has very strong public opinion. 

 As a community we ask that you sign our petition as well as share our petition on social media or wherever you feel it should be shared. 

A dog who has been in a shelter since 2021 should absolutely have a chance at life if there are people willing and ABLE *Qualifed people*  to help. There does seem to be more to this story however where it becomes quite complex is why would you keep a dog since 2021 on your "adoptable page and adoption floor" take care of the dog, financially support the dog and all veterinary care, as well as allow volunteers to interact with the dog.
