Today, Basketball NSW publicly announced their support for our community on social media, a powerful show of solidarity that reinforces just how vital accessible sport is for children and families across Western Sydney. We are deeply grateful for their leadership and advocacy.
We ask everyone to please continue sharing this petition. Every signature helps amplify the voices of our families, our children, and our broader community. This is about more than basketball, it’s about protecting inclusive, affordable access to sport for all.
In response to our collective advocacy, Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre (PVRSC) has issued a public statement, which you can read here.

In their (PVRSC) own words:
“The PVRSC Board stands firm that the established rates of court hire represent a fair and necessary contribution from all users… We will not return to practices of the past of providing special conditions for any user that do not represent a fair and equitable contribution for the future of the facility.”
They’ve reaffirmed their commitment to long-term viability and community benefit, stating:
“The Centre exists for the community, not one association… We remain open to constructive engagement with any organisation committed to a fair and sustainable framework.”
While we respect the Board’s right to communicate their position, we also stand firm in our belief that equitable access to sport must include affordability, transparency, and genuine collaboration with the families and associations who rely on these facilities every week.
As Aussie movie icon Darryl Kerrigan once said, “Tell 'em they're dreamin.” We dream of a future where no child is priced out of sport, where community venues truly reflect the needs of the communities they serve, and where fairness includes listening to those most affected.
