Le problème

My YouTube channel, Nocturnal Tales, has been demonetized for 90 days, and we're asking for your help to get it properly reviewed.

Since March, Nocturnal Tales has been our full-time job and the main source of income for our family. The channel has grown to about 20,000 subscribers in under a year. We publish long-form mystery and detective stories, usually between 40 and 90 minutes per episode. Every story is drafted, rewritten, structured and produced specifically for this channel. Many people listen every night to fall asleep, calm anxiety, cope with pain, or simply feel less alone.

Despite this, YouTube has labeled my channel as: “inauthentic / mass-produced content”
and removed monetization for 90 days. I submitted an appeal. It was rejected with generic wording about a “significant portion of the channel” not meeting YouTube Partner Program policies, but without a single concrete example or timestamp. I was told I can only reapply after 90 days, and only if I “modify” my content – but I have no clear indication of what I’m supposed to change.

Here is how the channel actually works:

  • The core of every episode is human-written fiction. We use AI only as a writing assistant (drafting and refinement), and we personally edit and finalize every script.
  • Each upload is a unique, long-form story. I don’t repost third-party content, I don’t run cloned channels, and I don’t flood YouTube with short, low-effort clips.
  • YouTube says AI tools are allowed when the creator provides substantial input and value. That is exactly what we're doing. AI is a tool inside a larger, high-effort creative process – not a way to pump out cheap automated content.

Our community’s reaction proves that this is not “mass-produced spam”. Listeners leave long, thoughtful comments about the plots and characters, and about how the stories help with insomnia, grief, stress and loneliness. When demonetization hit, many people followed me to Patreon and Rumble and started supporting there just to keep the stories alive. People do not behave like that for low-effort junk.

Demonetization is not just a small financial setback. It directly threatens my ability to continue creating these stories at all.

With this petition, I am asking YouTube for three simple things:

  • A real human review of Nocturnal Tales by someone who understands long-form audio storytelling.
  • Clear, concrete feedback if there are specific videos or practices that truly violate YouTube Partner Program rules.
  • If the channel is found to be in compliance, reinstatement of monetization, so I can keep creating this content for the people who depend on it.

By signing this petition, you are asking YouTube to look past automated labels in this case and to give Nocturnal Tales a fair chance.

Your signature supports serious, high-effort storytelling on YouTube and the many listeners who rely on it every day.

Thank you.
