**Petition to Let Mo the Cat Back into His Second Home – The Local Co-op!**

Dear Fellow Cat Lovers and Community Champions,

Have you ever walked into your local Co-op and been greeted by a purring ball of joy who seems to *belong* there more than you do? Well, that’s Mo, the legendary feline who’s been bringing smiles to the faces of young and old alike with his chill demeanor and love of people-watching. But *drumroll*, here's the sad news – recently, a customer made a complaint to head office about Mo’s daily visits. Yes, apparently Mo’s laid-back lounging on the shop floor (sometimes even perched on a seat at the till, as though she’s about to give change – honestly, he’d probably do a better job than some of us) is now considered a problem.

Now, instead of enjoying her quiet spot in the store, the Co-op staff have been instructed by head office to kick Mo out whenever he sneaks in. It’s like they’re playing an endless game of “find the cat” – especially when Mo thinks she can sneak in unnoticed by darting in behind customers as they enter or leave the store. This little trick works for a while, but the staff quickly spot her and hustle her back outside. And Mo? he’s left standing by the door, looking longingly inside as though he’s waiting for a VIP pass back to her second home.

We, the undersigned, ask that Head Office reconsiders this decision and lets Mo the Cat return to his rightful spot inside the Co-op. It’s not just Mo’s favorite place – it’s *our* favorite place too, and we believe that the *needs of the many* (that’s us, the Mo-loving public) *outweigh the needs of the few* (that one person who’s a little too allergic to joy).

Why Mo? Why not? Here’s why Mo’s presence is important to the community:
- She brings joy to customers. Ever seen a kid smile at the sight of a cat lounging around the store? It’s like watching a puppy discover its first tennis ball.
- he’s a silent observer of human nature. In fact, Mo’s probably the wisest creature in the entire store. he’s always “purrfectly” calm, never raising her voice or complaining about the prices of cat food.
- he’s not causing any *cat-tastrophes.* In fact, she might even be the most well-behaved customer in the store.
- Plus, there’s *no* chance of hem walking on the shelves and knocking things over. Mo’s too chill to do that. Honestly, the only thing he’s knocking over is your heart.

To be clear, we are *not* asking for money with this petition. However, if people *do* wish to donate, we would like to let you know that any funds raised will go directly to the *real heroes* at Lothian Cat Rescue, right around the corner from the Co-op. They’re the ones who lovingly take care of abandoned cats and kittens, reuniting lost ones with their families and giving others a safe place to call home. They deserve all the love in the world – and if this petition goes big enough, we’ll show that same love to Mo!

So, sign the petition today and let’s get Mo back where he belongs – curled up in her favorite Co-op spot, spreading smiles like a furry little ambassador of good vibes. Because, after all, what’s life without a bit of Mo? You could say it’s just not *purrfect*.

Thank you for your support,
A loyal customer on behalf of Mo, the Cat with the Best Job in the World

P.S. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, Mo. We’ll get you back in yet!

Local mo mourning shopper Craig Fox of Dalkeith, Midlothian is quoted as saying “I’m not even a cat person, more a dog person but I love seeing Mo when I pop in for some shopping. Kids love him too, also a bit of a distraction for them when they’re in the shop. I say Mo should be left to do as he pleases 🐈‍⬛😸”

Another not pleased customer, Adam Novara is quoted online “someone should submit a complaint about the ever increasing prices and inform them that the cat acts as a good distraction when your paying 3 pound for a lettuce..”
