The Issue

I've been DJing for as long as I can remember. It's not just a hobby for me; it's a passion and a way for me to connect with people, especially my peers at school. Knowing the tastes and preferences of my fellow students in College Station, TX, I truly believe I can create an unforgettable experience for our homecoming and prom dances.

For too long, we've hired DJs who are much older and may not fully grasp the current trends and vibes that excite today's youth. The DJ the school typically hires is over 30 years old, and while experienced, may not have the same insight or connection with our student body. Music is more than just playing songs—it's about creating an atmosphere where everyone feels included and can enjoy the moment.

Allowing a fellow student to DJ would not only bring a fresh perspective but also ensure that the music played resonates with all of us and keeps the dance floor packed. I’ve spent years curating playlists, mixing tracks, and understanding the flow of an event to ensure that every moment is memorable. Let’s make this year’s homecoming and prom truly unique and student-centered.

Turning this vision into reality requires the support of the school administration. We need to demonstrate that having a student DJ isn't just a novelty, but a valuable addition to our events. By signing this petition, you can help show our administrators the vast potential and enthusiasm for this change. Together, let's make our dances not only about celebrating but about celebrating in a way that is true to us.

Sign this petition to support a shift in how we experience our school dances and bring in a DJ who understands and appreciates our unique community here in College Station, TX.
