The students at Garfield High School deserve to be able to eat lunch with their friends without the barrier of having two lunches. Having a one-lunch schedule prevents students from being isolated from their peers, and it allows clubs to have the space and time needed to function.

Clubs at Garfield are an essential part of our community: they provide spaces for students to go and find like-minded peers and develop deep friendships. Having one lunch everyday allows clubs to have time for meetings, events, and planning, and doesn’t restrict students to picking just one club meeting to attend. 

In light of all the struggles that the Garfield community has faced in recent years, community bonding and engagement is more important now than ever.
