Let Estheticians Thrive: Pass the Dermaplaning Bill in PA

Let Estheticians Thrive: Pass the Dermaplaning Bill in PA
The Issue
Help get dermaplaning legalized for all licensed beauty professionals in Pennsylvania!
✨ What is dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is the safe removal of vellus hair (peach fuzz) from the surface of the skin using a sterile blade. This treatment is already in the scope of practice for licensed estheticians in most states across the U.S.—but here in Pennsylvania, it’s still not legal for us to perform.
✨ Why this matters:
Licensed estheticians are trained, skilled professionals who want to provide safe, effective services for their clients. Outdated licensing restrictions are holding us back from offering treatments that our clients are asking for—and that estheticians in other states already perform daily. This isn’t just about a service—it’s about supporting small businesses, growing our industry, and keeping Pennsylvania competitive.
✨ Where things stand now:
A bill has already been introduced to legalize dermaplaning for licensed estheticians, but it has been sitting stagnant on the desk of Representative Frank Burns. As the head of the Professional Licensure Committee, he has the power to give this bill the attention it needs in order to move forward.
✨ Why we need your support:
We are members of the communities Frank Burns serves and represents. Supporting this bill would show that he cares about small businesses, working professionals, and the future of our industry. Right now, this lack of movement is costing estheticians potential earnings and growth opportunities—and limiting the options available to Pennsylvania clients who deserve access to safe, regulated treatments.
By signing this petition, you’re helping us send a clear message: Pennsylvania estheticians deserve fair, modern licensing laws. We are ready to work, grow, and serve our clients—and we need our representatives to stand with us.
