We, the undersigned, urge Fayette County Public Schools to reconsider the decision to revoke the employment of Coach Michael McKee as a middle school paraeducator and football coach due to a misdemeanor from over a decade ago.

Coach McKee has spent the last 13 years mentoring and coaching young people in our community. The misdemeanor in question occurred 11 years ago, was not violent, and did not involve children. It does not reflect the man he is today—a trusted role model, a passionate educator, and a consistent source of support for students.

Removing Coach McKee from his position not only punishes him unfairly, but also deprives our students of a mentor who has proven his dedication time and again.

We believe in second chances. We believe in evaluating people by their growth and contributions—not by a single mistake from the distant past.
