I’ve been seeing people posting about a petition to stop Charlie Kirk from visiting USU for his public debates, and even though I doubt that will convince the school to cancel his visit, I think it’s a great opportunity for those of us who agree with Charlie and his beliefs to show our support. So if you are a fan of Charlie and would like to support him in his visit to USU, feel free to sign, even though this petition will likely be just as ineffectual as the one trying to stop him from coming. In trying to stop Charlie from coming to USU, those who have signed the petition to bar his visit are essentially inhibiting the first amendment rights of Charlie, and those interested in conversing and/or debating with him. Just because someone disagrees with another individual's beliefs and doesn’t want to see them spread their message, doesn’t mean they have the right to impede that individual’s rights. So again, if you are in support of Charlie’s messages of common sense, truth, and positive change, please sign so we can show our support in his efforts to better our country.
