Calvin Jones is an American citizen who, until the invasion, resided in Kyiv with his Ukrainian wife, Inga.

As a spouse of a US citizen, she attempted to get a visa to VISIT the country of her husband's citizenship. They are fleeing a country that is being destroyed by Russia. While in the US consulate in Romania they saw many other Ukrainians getting their visas to the United States. They were able to visit with simple B1/B2 visas even though they have no home or business to return to. Calvin’s wife was denied. She is the spouse of a US citizen. She should have the right to visit with her husband when he comes to the US touring as a musician.

We should follow the EU’s example. They are giving Ukrainians 1-3 years to stay in the EU. Please do what you can to allow Calvin’s wife Inga to return to the US with her husband. And allow other Ukrainians the same opportunity to experience the hospitality and compassion that the US should be known for. Especially to innocent victims of an unprovoked and ill-conceived attack that the entire world will suffer from for months if not years to come.
